  1. Amen! And WHY does the congregation always CLAP for everything? Entertainment, folks. Entertainment. If we need to CLAP all the time, why not clap for the ushers when they pass us the offering plate? Or clap for the pastor when he gives a message?

Well … I know I’m a little funny looking … but I pray the Lord will keep me from becoming a clown!

What is the source for this quote?

  4. Bill gives the quote, not the source of the quote.

  5. It is quoted in dozens of places. Why is the source so important? Are you suggesting he did not say it?

  6. Tom

Sounds very modern satire to be Spurgeon. It would be nice to point to the source.

  7. Reblogged this on Irishpropheticart's Blog and commented:
The churches are doing Star Wars Nativities! Please!

  8. Interesting question, “Why is the source important?” I would suggest it is important because if he didn’t say it and we’re passing false information along we’re not being honest. We should always check the source and the context if we’re going to share the information.
