In the Fullness of Time

A few days ago a friend of mine was sharing an experience with me about a lost object.   She has been ill and needed this piece of equipment to help her breathe.   She looked high and low for 2 hours and couldn’t find it.  I joked with her that she would find it in the last place she looked for it!   Later in the day she found it in a drawer next to her bed and the Lord spoke to her that she found it in the “fullness of time”.

Yesterday I was reading a bio of a Christian singer who was relating the story of how she tried to get pregnant for over 10 years….. all the ups and downs and 2 miscarriages, the pain etc.   Finally, she and her husband surrendered to God’s will and told Him that it was ok if they never had a child.  Shortly thereafter a baby boy was given away by his birth mother and they were able to adopt him.  The Lord impressed on me again…. “in the fullness of time”.

How often do we want something NOW?  God’s ways are not our ways and He brings things to pass in HIS timing, not ours.   Timing is very important to God!

He saved Israel from their bondage in Egypt “in the fullness of time”.   He saved us also “in the fullness of time”.

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. (Galatians 4:4-5, ESV)

Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord;   he inclined to me and                 heard my cry.

  1. My wife has a testimony about surrendering a desire and turning it over to God; it’s been a great lesson in our walk.

Psalm 31:15 “My times are in Your hand….” One of our greatest challenges of faith is trusting in God’s timing for the unfolding of His promises but His ways are perfect and He does make everything beautiful in its time! The “suddenlys” of God will surely come – He is so very faithful!

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus
Just to take Him at His Word!
