To the Ephesian Elders

2 audio teachings by Dave Curtis on the truth about titles and offices in the church:

from Berean Bible Church

There are three terms used in the New Testament to describe Church leaders, and none of them are “reverend,” they are, “bishop, elder, and pastor.” Pastors are not distinct from bishops or elders. The terms are simply different ways of identifying the same people.

Textual evidence indicates that all three terms refer to the same office. In verse 17 Paul uses the term “elders” and then in verse 28 he uses “bishop and shepherd”:

“Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. (Acts 20:28 NASB)
