December 21, 2012 Doomsday Predictions

December 21, 2012…Doomsday?

There are several different events that are said to take place in the year 2012. I will explore the majority of these coming events and focus on how they may affect the people of earth today.

I will start with the Mayan culture and what these ancient people believed. The Mayan Indians had an advanced knowledge of calendrics and cosmology. Today we have no clue as to how these ancient people knew what they knew. Since we are in a time of advanced technology today and have the ability and resources to explore the cosmos we know that what the Mayan’s believed about the sky was completely true. They did not have the technology we have today so how did they KNOW what would take place so far into the future?

  I will get right to the point of what the Mayan culture knew. They had a very detailed calendar of future cosmological events. The main event being the alignment of the solstice meridian with the galactic equator. It is said that there are some abstract variations involved with this alignment which is scheduled to take place on December 21, 2012. Those variations include different criteria that have a possibility of a plus/minus variable of months and years with different degrees of calculation or astrophysical location and possibly a difference in minutes of arc. Nevertheless, the Sun is scheduled to rise in the dark rift of our Milky Way on that date.

The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for the New Age belief that a cataclysm will take place.

One expert in the study and research of Mesoamerican cosmology and who has worked with the highland Tzutujil and Quiche Maya is John Major Jenkins. Jenkins work and study on the Mayan Calendar is above and beyond anything written to date. From his research we can gain several different answers to our question ..What will happen in the year 2012?

Jenkins states that although there will be a galactic and solstice alignment the result will not be totally known until that date occurs, until then he can tell us a few specifics…

One misconception is that the world will end in the year 2012. The ancient Mayan’s believe that there will be a death and a rebirth of the planet. They believe this happens in cycles and the date of December 21, 2012 will be the time of this event. Different writers believe that major earthquakes, pole shifts, comets, asteroids, famine, epidemics, or alien/ufo type events will take place. Some believe this time will represent a time of a great spiritual awakening of people on the planet. They believed we would be living in the 5th age of the sun, and that 4 previous ages had existed. The Mayans believed that there had been great death and destruction at the end of each of the previous worlds. The Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012 believing there will be no more ages.

Jenkins states in his book, Galactic Alignment  “the sensationalist stance belittles the true complexity of the subject and distracts us from taking seriously the astronomical reference encoded into the 2012 date. But if we do base our understanding of 2012 on the solstice-galaxy alignment, many will then assume that whatever is going to occur is “fated” in the stars. However, an astronomically defined event does not neccessarily result in deterministic consequences, although a framework is created in which a general understanding about the process can be reached. For example, one would not “predict” that the Sun will rise tomorrow morning, one would calculate and project forward and then expect the Sun to rise. One does not know exactly what will take place tomorrow morning but daybreak is a given that will frame all events. Likewise, the Mayan calculated galactic midnight to occur in 2012, when maximum night shifts into the dawning of day and within that framework a death and rebirth can be expected, but the specifics of what occurs remain to be seen.” John Major Jenkins presents his evidence from ancient traditions and knowledge about the galaxy. He is very well read on the subject.

NASA scientists say that we can expect major solar storms that will disrupt magnetic fields and create chaotic disruptions on Earth. NASA predicts these unprecedented solar storms will occur in 2012. These solar storms occur every 11 years and as each set of 11 years comes and goes the power of these storms increase exponentially. In 2012 sunspot activity will hit their maximum level.

The HOPI Indians predicted war and large scale destruction of the earth. Evil spreading all over the world but more specifically, the HOPI prophecy states that an event in the heavens would precede this coming destruction, bombs, wars, radioactivity…etc. Most importantly from my research into these prophecies I found that the HOPI prophecy and Biblical prophecy seem to correlate. The prophecy states: “The end of all Hopi ceremonialism will come when a “Kachina” removes his mask (the man the Bible calls the antichrist) during a dance in the plaza before uninitiated children (the general public). For a while there will be no more ceremonies, no more faith (the end of all religion and the start of a one world religion). Then Oraibi will be rejuvenated with its faith and ceremonies, marking the start of a new cycle of Hopi life. World War III will be started by those peoples who first revealed the light (fallen angels masquerading as angels of light) in the other old countries.” Statements in parentheses give a more detailed explanation. The HOPI prophecies go back thousands of years and are very detailed. They speak of an end to life as we know it. Not a life of peace nor a life of happiness. Their prophecies correspond with many Biblical prophecies in terms of destruction.

The Hindu, Kali Yuga also predicts an end and a new beginning, a Golden Age, for the earth in the same year….2012.

Bible prophecy states that in the End of Days the man of perdition (II Thessalonians 2:3) will be revealed after he brings peace to a chaotic world. During the middle of his reign (Daniel 9:27) he will turn against the world and cause all to worship him and his image. This man will have allowed the spirit of Satan to enter him (II Thessalonians 2:9). II Corinthians 11:14 talks about Satan masquerading as an angel of light deceiving the world and we can see how in these last days how many have turned to new age beliefs because they offer enlightenment for all. The Antichrist will put an end to all religion…all faiths. World War III will be started by this evil man who is Satan in disguise who wanted then and still wants to “be like God.” Although there are no exact dates written in the Bible, the Lord said those who are His would KNOW the times and the seasons. Matthew 24 talks specifically about the Signs of the End of the Age and what events would precede the coming of Jesus Christ which would mark the end of the world as we know it. Different prophets such as, Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce also predicted major catastrophes would take place on the planet although never alluding to the exact 2012 date. Nostradamus predicted that there would be several prophecies from different times throughout the years of man’s existence that would point to the same time of the world’s destruction. Nostradamus predicted that many catastrophes would take place near the year 2000 date. Cayce predicted major floods…but stated, “it is not where you live but how you live.” Man will reap what he has sown.

Some say that the Pyramid at Giza has a timeline written into it’s foundations and also reveal events that will take place starting in the year 2000 AD.

The Vatican has held on to a secret prophecy since the early 1900’s that speak of world destruction if man keeps on the path he is on. The Vatican revealed the 3rd secret of the 3 prophecies involved while Pope John Paul II was alive. This prophecy talks about a “great cross” being seen in the sky. This prophecy is called the “Message of Fatima” and can be found by a simple online search for all it’s details which are apocalyptic in nature. The point is that the prophecies involved are in-line with the majority that I am writing here although no date was ever mentioned for these destructive events.

The Dutch are expecting the world to end on the December 21, 2012 date. The Dutch newspaper “de Volkskrant” spoke to thousands of believers of the impending end of civilization. Although many beliefs are varied most are tied to the 2012 end date of the Mayan Calender. The Dutch have stockpiled food and emergency supplies and other types of doomsday equipment. Much of the Netherlands is below sea level and has had major problems with flooding….this may be the reason why people see the Netherlands as being totally destroyed.

Constance Cumby, Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, writes on her blog….”The New Agers shifted their focus from 1982 to a 25 year campaign for the Earth that opened in 1987 and they hoped would culminate in 2012. They shifted their expectations for having their “messiah” in the Holy Land for his staged fake second coming from the 1980s to the conclusion of a 42 year period that they claim opened with the end of the Six Day War in 1967 until 2009.” The New Age movement seems ready to herald their “New Age Messiah” which is planned to take place at anytime.

If you do a search on any internet search engine and type in “2012″ you will find an abundance of information on the subject. So many people are very aware of this date and believe that it will be the beginning of the end….or possibly the end. Whether it is the complete end we will not know until the day comes. I believe the majority of the world who is technologically connected in any way, shape or form will have heard something about the year 2012 and what the possibilities of this date may bring. One thing is definite and that is we need to be prepared in our hearts for whatever may come upon this world. If you’ve been alive for the past 50 years and you think back on the past you will be able to say beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have seen this world go through an amazing amount of changes. Technology doubled and possibly tripled in the past 50 years. The world seems to have sped up. People are lovers of themselves, seeking only to please their own desires. Children are killing each other. Families are disfunctional as divorce rates have skyrocketed. Natural disasters have destroyed parts of the earth and killed thousands of people. Wickedness has increased. Many people worldwide have no hope for the future because of what they see. It is important to know where your faith lies. We are living in very serious and sober times. I encourage everyone who is reading this article to look to the Lord for wisdom and strength for what the future may bring. Again, it is not where you live but HOW you live.

Global transformation or destruction?  Enlightenment or deception? Harmonic Convergence? New Age Messiah?

The validity of the aforementioned prophecies will be tested……and soon enough.
