Micah Moore indicted for murder in Deaton death

A grand jury today indicted Micah Moore for first-degree murder in the death of Bethany Ann Deaton, the wife of his spiritual leader.
The indictment supersedes a previous charge of murder filed by the Jackson County prosecutor’s office.
Moore, 23, is currently free on a $250,000 cash bond.
According to court documents, Moore allegedly told a detective 10 days after Deaton’s body was found Oct. 30 inside a van at Longview Lake that he had killed her. The death had up to then been considered a suicide.
Moore allegedly said he feared that Deaton, 27, was going to tell her therapist about sexual assaults that had occurred within their religious group. Moore’s attorney has since said her client’s confession was a fiction born of a fragile mental state.
Moore’s next court date is Jan. 17.

But wait! Why did the Grandy Jury indict Micah Moore? Here is a Latter Rain IHOP member who submitted to Mike Bickle’s “Apostolic authority” and got his “vision” from the “prophetic presbytery teams” that IHOP-KC churns out through their IHOP University courses. He was “just taking orders” and “obeyed his spiritual authority” so according to Latter Rain doctrine, God should somehow “make it up to him” if he “suffers persecution for the Lord’s sake”, right? Since his disciplers are under “Apostolic authority” then they too will be blessed and come out of all this too, right? This is the line taught by *ALL* Latter Rain leaders and is an integral part of their “Dominion or 7-Mountain Mandate.” Since this is a “mandate” from the Lord, then nothing can stand in the way of any Latter Rain member. Nothing at all, right?
The singing error here is that Micah Moore is out on Bail at all. This is a classical conspiratorial Cult/Murder syndrome, [ Such as the ancient "THUGEES" of India, or the Manson Murders} & there can be no doubt that others were involved or had knowledge of the plot:....Her husband Tyler, and the others involved in sodomite orgies and the rape of Bethany as part of their sordid Mystic [ Bridal Paradigm ? ..where Tyler's Bride Bethany comes in to share.?]…religious sexual alliance.; several possibly.
In essence, Bethany was murdered to cover the shame of it all, if exposed. According to the LAW, even knowing about a murder conspiracy, or helping the plotting, of it, is a crime. Charlie Manson was NEVER proven guilty of touching a murder victim, but was convicted of Murder 1.
Moore is liable to commit suicide, as much as he is being silenced by those intertwined in the homosexual sex, & knowledge of the crime… How many of them were aware of the plot? or participated in the plot? & we know what they are capable of, don’t we?
His first story was that Tyler made him do it, & is probably true…but were there more? Moore’s bond must be revoked today, for if he disappears one way or another, much of the truth will be lost, I fear. He should be put on suicide watch also. He knows where the skeletons are buried., & the truth deserves to come out .
We must not shirk from the truth, even if it is as wicked as Judas did. Pray that some would be saved. Some of the Manson Murderers came to Christ! Tom
I agree with Tom, where are the charges filed on others. Especially if there is video or writings implicating them. Something is missing here. Where is the autopsy report?
Good question Curious…. we are all wondering the same thing!
Based upon the Jeremiah Candler starvation-murder that happened with IHOP-KC missionaries in November 2008, the autopsy report will be forthcoming. You really have to see all the medical tests and procedures that were involved with the Candler murder to appreciate the thoroughness of the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office. Once the trial is over, all the files will be available just like with the Candler case. I was able to glean a lot from the psychiatric reports of the Candlers. The big lesson here — and it was no surprise — is that the psychiatrist brought out a condition called a “Shared Delusion.” In context, the father was subject to the delusions of the mother. The psychiatrist did go to IHOP-KC to see just what was the environment the Candlers were in that might have contributed to the subsequent neglect and eventual starvation death of their son. The visit was recorded in the medical report describing what everyone can see on YouTube i.e. hours and hours of New Age music sessions where the participants lift their hands and go into an altered-state of consciousness for hours on end. The psychiatrist questioned IHOP-KC missionary Nicholas Candler as to this beliefs on medical treatment i.e. does Candler believe in hospitals, medicine, medical procedures, etc. His response was classic of that espoused by Jehovah’s Witnesses, Word-of-Faith, and other Bible-cults; that “Faith in God” and the miraculous is the answer and any deviation from that shows a lack of faith and dependance upon God. Of course, the court had to weigh that belief system against the starvation-neglect of a 5-month-old infant that led to death. The mother was found to be not mentally competent to stand trial, but the father was and was convicted for manslaughter and child neglect.
So here we are less than 4-years later with yet another murder at IHOP-KC. All the IHOP-KC students are held in a false cult solidarity with Allen Hoodley, Mike Bickle and the other cult leaders issuing public statements to the effect that they have washed their hands of the murder and that their was no apparent connection between the ritual sex, unlawful use of narcotics, rape, murder, cover-up, conspiracy to commit murder, etc. etc. Yet, there in some good that came out of all this. You see, what happened can be viewed from a prophetic warning perspective. Time is needed to obtain a few more court dockets for further analysis, just like as with the Candler homicide. There are indeed huge warnings in the present case for law enforcement, parents, teachers, relatives, perspective employers, etc. that need to know more about IHOP and the parent Christian Kabbalist cult movement — the New Order of the Latter Rain that was re-packaged as the New Apostolic Reformation, led by the reincarnated “Apostles and Prophets.”
This current murder case is really a repeat of another Latter Rain cult made famous for its abuses in the 80s, namely, Maranatha Campus Ministries/Maranatha Christian Church (MCM/MCC) where horrific crimes, even physical maimings also took place within the same “University” style environment. The historical lessons learned will now be applied to a full understanding of the hidden occult doctrines and practices common to Maranatha and IHOP, both part of the Latter Rain movement. Nothing new here, same denials, same feable attempts by lawyers to quash the evidence. Its just another repeat of the same criminal activity that surfaces from time to time within this deadly mind-control movement.
NOLR: Thanks for your informed insights. I hope this story doesn’t die with Bethany, or just fade away. IHOP needs exposure as to exactly what their Neo-Monastic Mystic Devotional Monasteries are doing to the Naive young who often are sincere in their quest to find God, and to give themselves to Him fully.
Do you remember your pure devotion to Christ, shortly after you were Born again? I do. I led many to Christ beginning the DAY I was saved; but later woke up in a cult that hated me. [ As some who try to leave IHOP realize..].
But once you are “IN”, & continually indoctrinated and numbed to think for yourself, or question ANYTHING differing the Party-Line; it becomes harder and Harder! to break away; JUST LIKE THE DEATON’S! and if you think about it, they became so numbed to the Lord, WHILE remaining in “Fellowship” there; that sodomite orgies, rape, and murder to cover their tracks was totally acceptable.
Let us pray and hope that the KC detectives take this seriously, and perhaps IHOP will not slip away so easily now. Since they ARE NOT CHRISTIAN, it is entirely legal before God to sue them, and I encourage the relatives of Bethany to pursue this: She was entrusted to Pastoral Care there, was she not?
There are several credible testimonies down below on the IHOP Refugee thread. I hope KC Police heads that way; but moreso that IHOP is permantly crippled to continue it’s cultish practices that murder the innocent.
A few more details. All manner of sin may be hidden in the shadows of what Religion really is. God have mercy & expose the death in the pot.
Nov. 17, 2012, the Kansas City Star provided an update on what Jackson County, Missouri authorities have described as a cult murder. Numerous questions surround the death of Bethany Deaton, 27, including a link between the cult group she was involved with and Kansas City’s International House of Prayer operated by Mike Bickle. According to Jackson County police reports, Deaton was found dead on Oct. 30, 2012 in the back seat of a Ford Windstar van with a bag over her head. Next to her body were several bottles of pills and a note. At first, authorities believed Deaton’s death was suicide. The case was classified as a homicide after Micah Moore, 23, one of Deaton’s roommates and fellow cult member, turned himself into the Grandview Police Department and gave a bizarre confession. Now, investigators are trying to piece together the cult activities by the group led by Deaton’s husband, Tyler Deaton, 26, as well as their associations with the International House of Prayer.
Alleged Rape and Murder of Bethany Deaton
The note found alongside Bethany Deaton’s deceased body reads as follows, “My name is Bethany Deaton. I chose this evil thing. I did it because I wouldn’t be a real person and what is the point of living if it is too late for that? I wish I had chosen differently a long time ago. I knew it all and refused to listen. Maybe Jesus will save me.”
The suicide note is disjointed and is almost cryptic in its wording. It might not make sense if it weren’t for Moore’s confession indicating it was faked. According to Moore, who has not been charged with any sexual crimes, but faces first-degree murder charges, Moore murdered Deaton while acting upon her husband’s orders.
The Kansas City Star reported, “According to court documents, Moore, said that he and other members of the group had engaged in a series of sexual assaults on Bethany Deaton at a house in Grandview, where several of the group lived. He later told detectives that Tyler Deaton told him to kill Bethany, “saying he knew Micah had it in him to do it,” according to court documents.”
Tyler Deaton and other cult members who lived in the home are currently under investigation. It is unclear whether charges stemming from the sexual assault allegations will be filed. Court documents also quote Moore as telling authorities that Bethany Deaton was seeing a counselor/therapist and the men feared she would reveal the sexual abuse. He also indicated there was video evidence depicting the sexual abuse and that Bethany Deaton had wrote about her experiences through poetry.
International House of Prayer and Tyler Deaton Connection
The International House of Prayer (IHOP) is understandably distancing itself as far as possible from Tyler Deaton and other cult members associated with the case. On Nov. 16, 2012 and Nov. 17, 2012, the Kansas City Star published two in-depth articles detailing the associations Tyler Deaton had with IHOP as well as Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. The Star compiled an in-depth look at Deaton and his start as a cult leader.
According to the report, Deaton and his cult members attended IHOP and graduated from the school’s university. There is controversy growing surrounding IHOP’s involvement with Deaton as the Star reports that Deaton’s’ name remained on a handout and website listing of friendship groups orchestrated through IHOP. Deaton served as a “division coordinator.” The Star reports his name remained on the list until Nov. 4, 2012; five days following Bethany Deaton’s murder.
The Star reported, “It was the day of that second funeral when Moore went to the Grandview Police Department. At some point — court documents are unclear on the timing — he confessed many details to Shelley Hundley, a reverend and member of the executive team at IHOP. Investigators with the Jackson County sheriff’s office began questioning other people who lived in the house.
“Bethany, whose body had been found the night before Halloween in the back of her van beside Longview Lake, with a bag over her head and a suicide note left on the console, was no longer considered a victim of suicide. Her body was returned to Kansas City.
“Friends and family, already reeling from the false news that Bethany had killed herself, now had to fathom so much more.
“Bethany was sexually assaulted over a period of months while drugged with someone else’s prescription anti-psychotic, witnesses in the house told authorities. This was happening, the witnesses alleged, in a period of time that male members in the house were involved in sexual relationships with Deaton, one saying it was part of a “religious experience.”
The Star report clearly laid out motive for the murder. Friends close to the situation say the Deatons married in August 2012.
According to court documents, Shelley Hundley has been listed as a witness in the case.
IHOP issued a full statement regarding their view of Deaton’s association with the church and denied that he had been a “division coordinator” and referred to the listing as a mistake.
IHOP Releases Statement on Cult Murder of Bethany Deaton
On Nov. 16, 2012, Mike Bickle released a statement on the official International House of Prayer (IHOP) website distancing the ministry from Tyler Deaton.
The statement explained, “After Deaton graduated from IHOPU in May 2012 he began to show interest in our FCF small groups. That summer our FCF small groups came under a new director, who formed a temporary, think-tank-type discussion group made up of volunteers, who met to discuss ideas on how to improve small groups. Deaton attended this group, though he made it very clear to our small groups’ director that his independent Bible study group would not be connected in any way. On one occasion in October 2012 Deaton facilitated a breakout discussion of seven or eight people.
“We now believe his interest in our small groups was to try to promote his own agenda within our organization.
A volunteer mistakenly labeled Deaton as a divisional coordinator when preparing a preliminary small groups info packet. Because the small groups’ director was not consulted and did not catch the error, the volunteer continued to reprint the mistake. The incorrect information has since been removed.”
The statement continued, “In mid-June, an individual spoke to the new small groups’ director raising concerns about Deaton’s manipulative behavior in his independent Bible study group. The director met with Deaton and mistakenly concluded that these concerns had been resolved. This we deeply regret. This individual again voiced concerns in mid-October, and we began to investigate the situation.
These concerns did not include any reference to the sexual perversion, sexual assault, or malicious practices that were exposed only after Bethany’s death.”
A memorial page for Bethany Deaton has been set up here.
IHOP-U president Allen Hood also released a statement.
““The International House of Prayer University (IHOPU) faculty was saddened by the tragic death of Bethany Leidlein Deaton on October 30. Bethany had attended a six-month internship at IHOPU in 2009 and went on to become a registered nurse working in a local hospital.
On November 10, we were shocked when the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office notified us that an IHOPU student by the name of Micah Moore, a man who knew Bethany since their college days in Texas, had been charged with her murder.
Since Bethany’s death, it has come to light that over five years ago, both she and Mr. Moore joined an independent, close-knit, religious group in Georgetown, Texas. This religious group of fewer than 20 people was led by Tyler Deaton. They relocated to Kansas City over the last few years and operated under a veil of secrecy.
This group has always operated independently of the university, and it is important to all of us that this group’s secrecy and disturbing religious practices are fully exposed.
Mr. Deaton led his religious group entirely independently from IHOPU, though he and some of his members were enrolled in our university.
We have been working closely with the local authorities in their ongoing investigation into Bethany’s death. We continue to fully assist all law enforcement agencies in their efforts to uncover the extent and specifics of this horrific crime.
We are currently taking all necessary steps to minister to our students and ensure their safety and well-being. As an educational institution built around the priority of prayer, we ask everyone to please join us in praying for Bethany’s family and friends and all affected by her tragic and untimely death.
Due to the ongoing police investigation we have no further comment at this time.”
It should be noted that IHOP, Forerunner Christian Ministry and IHOP-University are not being investigated in connection to Bethany Deaton’s
murder.

Alchemystical Experiments
Well, according to the Jeremiah Candler murder court files, there remains numerous ties to IHOP, especially when Jackson County authorities went to IHOP to see just what they did their and how it may have influenced the Candlers to starve their newborn baby to death. In several court-ordered interviews with Nicholas Candler, it was shown that his views relating to reliance on allopathic medicine matched perfectly with the Word-of-Faith doctrines prevalent with the Latter Rain teachings of Mike Bickle and others.
As it relates to the current murder case, we see the metaphors of the “Brautmystik” a/k/a “Bridal Mysticism doctrines taught by Mike Bickle, Allen Hoodley, Lou Engle, and also used within music mysticism by Mystical Edwards in IHOP chanting sessions. Whereas Tyler Deaton played the part of the “Groom” in his sex magic with his close-knit “Bride”, the “Corporate Christ” leadership in IHOP continually uses mind-control via Brautmystik allegories and metaphors found within their Count von Zinzendorf hero’s doctrines. The facts and context surrounding both the Candler murder and the Deaton murder are irrefutable and very diabolic in nature. Both victims appear to have been a type of human sacrifice upon the altar of a common belief system. A major component in this belief system is the reliance upon magic and the supernatural. The Candlers did not trust doctors for want of their trust in supernatural manifestations of healing and heath for their children. If Micah Moore’s original testimony given to the Jackson County Sheriff detectives and witnesses hold true, then Tyler Deaton appears to be doing the same Brautmystik as Mike Bickle and IHOP leadership are doing, but more on a grand scale. Both appear to be using the metaphor of “marrige” to a corporate “Bride” and all parties involved appear to be using human components in their alchemystical experiments. When the “experiment” goes awry, the “components” must be disposed of since anyone looking at the experiment and the components used with quickly realize the individuals who composed the experiments committed criminal acts. Also, by looking at the “experiment” and the components, one can readily determine that the experimenters have a sociological make-up that has a total disregard for human life in that the quest for the desired outcome overrides morals that would otherwise prevent them from holding these utopian beliefs in the first place.
I watched the very old utopian beliefs of undoing the Fall of Adam through the implementation of an “ordered society” repeated by Latter Rain leader George Otis, Jr. at OneThing 2012 in KC. Otis spearheaded the utopian experiments called “Transformations” in South America where giant fruits and vegetables were supposedly the result of an ordered society i.e. the curse of Adam’s Sin upon the earth was removed from a particular geographic region. Yet, when investigators went to those town and villages to check upon the validity of the supposed giant vegetables, reduction in crime, etc. they were not true. But carrying-out this restoration for the Adamic Fall requires human bodies; more “components” for the “experiment” which is why Otis was a guest speaker at OneThing 2012. He was basically recruiting youth to carry out his theosophical dream of a New Kingdom Age and New World Order.
Thomas, you wrote,
I too remember well and it’s because of those memories that have caused me to continue to expose the Latter Rain cancer in Kansas City and elsewhere. It takes a while to come to an understanding of all the sub-heresies and how the Latter Rain leaders try to fit them together so as to appear solid and uniform. In reality, the doctrinal “bricks” are held together with “untempered morter” just exactly like God showed Ezekiel. the Latter Rain, Word-of-Faith, Purpose-Driven, Emergent Church, Promise Keepers, Alpha, etc. are all theosophical experiments that use humans as components.

I did not write that NOLR, but agree in spirit with the observation. However, I see it in different terms than a “Theosophical Experiment” I see it as simply Babylonian Deception.. Satanic Babylon was carried by Rome, transferring her abominations & Devil worship into Papal symbols & Christian types of religious activity. This is what 5000 year old Babel [ there-by Babel-on ] laid out; a sacrificial order to please God; sacrifice & works, & the more sacrificial & the more work, the better!…. [ Mother Teresa: unsaved, unbelieving, but enslaved to her duty to the sick & dying...]
Behind this activity, such a Paul Yonngi Chou’s massive”prayer mountains” & “churches” in Korea, is sacrificial Babylon, & behind that are swarms of demons, all masquerading as the Holy Spirit.
You are right though, if I understand your idea, that men, in their own capacity, attempt to orchestrate their own brand of devotion, that fits into their vision of the New world Order. I did not know about George Otis Junior; I met him in 1973. His dad was semi-famous, & set him up in preaching events, in the LA area. This kind of personal touch is common though; The RCC had & has hundreds of “Orders”, & Cloisters, each invented by different men & women possessed by this one & same Anti-Christ spirit.
I watched a couple of the “Transformation” videos; Isn’t it sad when in their exuberance they have to lie? It is a bend of the WOF heresies & men like Todd Bentley, possibly the King of the Liars. Remember 31 resurrections from the dead, & 10,000 healed? Actually, there were zero & zero, but by twisting people to BELIEVE the lie, they systematically undermine your faith in the Truth, who is a Person. Then they are free to empirically build on their own lies, layer upon layer, until you are saturated with delusion, and sink.
This is how they build the Cult. One day you wake up justifying a sodomite Bridal Experience [ Doesn't God just love everybody?]…& orgies, & christian Rites & raping , drugging,
& murdering your wife. This is Deaton & Moore, & everyone who knew what was coming to Bethany. Justifying!
IHOP is a Neo-Monastic Cult-Order, leaving a dark wake of ruined lived behind her, & setting the environment of a Mystical Devotion.that sets the Tone for others to follow; in their own idea, like Moore & Deaton. All true Holy Spirit Conviction went out the window long ago; quenched by the lies & spirit of Transcendental Meditative demonic power.EMBEDDED in IHOP as a covering for all.
There will be no repentance though; these web posts by concerned Brothers & True Sisters in Christ are just persecution! The devil attacking the anointed ones who give all as a prayer missionary; very sad. We must see Hell at the end of the tunnel though, as this is where the deceiver must go, along with the deceived.
Isn’t there a hearing scheduled for today?
It was yesterday…. he entered a plea of not guilty
I wanted to give an update on the Trial of Moore: It looks like Feb. 8th is the next appearance.
“INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A 23-year-old man at the center of a bizarre story that his attorneys now say was never true, pleaded not guilty to murder Thursday in Jackson County Court.
In early November, Micah Moore went to police and told them he killed Bethany Ann Deaton, 27, on October 30th at Longview Lake after her husband ordered him to do it. Moore claimed the husband, Tyler Deaton was also his spiritual leader and that he and Tyler, along with other men, had sex with Bethany Deaton after drugging her on several occasions.
Then, at the end of November, during what was supposed to be a preliminary hearing, Moore’s attorneys told the judge that Moore made up the story and that there was actually no crime– that Bethany Deaton died from suicide as police originally thought.
Prosecutors then asked the judge for a continuance so they could seek an indictment through a grand jury. In mid-December, a grand jury indictment was filed in the courts. Moore’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 8th……

…….Religious Group Members Steering Clear of Micah Moore
A little personal touch about Micah Moore’s jail stay::
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s been a lonely stay in jail for Micah Moore, who had claimed that he had killed Bethany Deaton at the order of her husband – but whose attorneys now claim he made the story up.
Moore, 23, was booked into the Jackson County Jail on November 9th after police say he confessed to the October suffocation murder of Deaton, the wife of Moore’s religious leader Tyler Deaton, in a van at Longview Lake.
Moore claimed that the murder was carried out because Tyler Deaton didn’t want his wife to tell anyone of her alleged sexual abuse at the hands of the members of the group at the couple’s Grandview home.
Earlier this week, Moore’s lawyers claimed that their client made the story up, and that Bethany Deaton had committed suicide.
The Jackson County Jail’s visitor log, though partially blacked out by authorities owing to attorney-client privilege, shows no friends or religious community members have visited Moore during his incarceration, only members of his family from Texas.
Tyler Deaton has made no public comments about the case, which is still under investigation, and neighbors say that he has moved out of the home the group had recently shared. ……
http://fox4kc.com/2012/11/29/religious-group-members-steering-clear-of-micah-moore/
Evidently, Moore is abandoned by everyone except his family. I hope for mercy for Moore, as Jesus has redeemed many murderers…[ if indeed he is..]….but it sure appears he did it.
I hope if this happened in my church, to one of my friends, I would have the moral courage to visit with him, & minister Jesus to him. This does not happen at IHOP, the land of High Spirituality & cold Love.
Waiting on them to indict Tyler Deaton… I suspect he’ll spill the proverbial beans on IHOP, its ‘inspiring’ teachings and all the different things he learned under the IHOP roof that helped him “get where he is today” i.e. unemployed, about to get nailed by the police and trying to be totally disowned by anyone and anything having to do with Bickle and IHOP…
I don’t know…. it’s taking a long time…. doesn’t look like they have a case against him. I would think they have all the forensics results on his wife by now. Don’t you think he would have been indicted by now?
We don’t even know if they really have a case against Micah. I know that most of us, understandably, are ignorant of the basics of the legal system. An attorney I know said that when he was a prosecutor the saying was, “You can indict a ham sandwich”, meaning that it is extremely easy to get someone indicted and the percentage of people arrested who are not indicted is very, very small. You can look up the process of how it works online.
This kid, Micah, whether he did it or not, was a Christian. The people who knew them before all of this happened are clearly indicating that they seemed like at least they were trying to be Christians, not malicious and vindictive. Perhaps we could actually stand by what the Law says and not consider them guilty until proven so. If you look around the various places this is being discussed online, there is a consistent trend. Major condemning comments, anti-religion vomit, hatred of IHOP, and then the one or two who are saying rational statements like, “Wait, if this is really so clear, why has no one been charged with sexual assault? Not even Micah has! And yet allegedly there was an iPad that detailed the assaults poetically and a certain drug in her system when he did it, not to mention the basic forensics of rape on a person’s body.” Or another: “This is America. If this really happened there are finger prints, or DNA, or Bethany’s body should show the horrible crime, or her blood suggest it was drugged as Micah said, or a video camera that caught something”. The people who pause without evidence to me are the ones on the right track.
I know that you view IHOP as full of malevolence and evil, and perhaps there are serious wrongs in their organization. But even if you are certain of that, perhaps a bit of pause on this situation should be taken until we have more than simply “Deaton was charismatic”, “Deaton has some sexual problems”, and “Micah said this happened.” Does Micah have a proven psychological history perhaps? Is that really enough to condemn a man?
For whatever it’s worth, think of what Micah is going through right now if he really didn’t kill her? Think of what that group of kids is going through if they really weren’t some “sex-cult”. Maybe their group needed to end, but this condemnation is severe.
