Over the past several days I have been reading reports of armed guards at IHOP. Most disturbing is that some of these reports indicate that there are armed guards IN THE PRAYER ROOM. ”I have a facebook page criticizing them, and I was tweeting in their chatrooms, I was praying when a gentleman asked me to come outside, I said sure, he asked me my name, I told him ,then he lied and said the grandview police wanted to talk to me. it was a lie, I told them I had already and would love to talk to any police about this matter, so I went to my car, two early 20′s IHOP guards armed with 9 millimeters, tasers, battons ect. they grabbed me and slammed me against the wall outside of the prayer room, they handcuffed me, then called the police, it was cold and took 2 hours for the police to show up, when they did IHOP had copies of my FB page and showed the police. they immediately instructed then to let me go.”
Is IHOP a potential Jonestown or Waco Tx? Why does a prayer room need armed security grards? With their fanatical end times theology (Mike Bickle teaching that they are going to “pray in the tribulation”) maybe they are getting ready for some serious fighting?
This is really disturbing in a way I never saw when I picketed Scientology, nor observed with friends who did the same. Obviously, when you’re at IHOP, you’re on private property, but security guards generally can’t hold you for two hours until the cops show up. They can ask you to leave, but they can’t hold you. It could be false imprisonment, which is a crime. They can also follow you and take video of you in public places. (I know this from personal experience.)
Mike, Allen, the rest of you guys, do you REALLY want to be compared to Scientology? Keep it up and it will happen.
I know Mirele! It is extremely disturbing!! I would really like verification on these reports! I have a friend (a pastor) whose wife worked for CBN (Pat Robertson) in VA. She was a phone counselor. He was picking her up at work and walking on the sidewalk when one of their guards demanded to see his license. He refused and they cuffed him, put him in their vehicle and then pepper sprayed him and took him to jail and let him sit there for a long time with the pepper spray on his face. he almost had a heart attack from it and wound up in the hospital. According to him CBN guards are practically part of the VA Beach police department. Could be the same thing is going on in Grandview!
Any way to find out if the IHOP-KC security guards have been deputized as cops by the Grandview police department?

I am on staff at IHOP. They have had a security team ever since I have been here. (9/2010) The prayer room is open to anyone who wants to come in as long as they treat other people with respect and honor the guidelines of conduct in the prayer room. We have had bomb threats, people try to curse people from the microphone, people strip off their clothes, come in drunk. People come from many nations to the prayer room. I believe that there are over a 1000 visitors a month not to mention the close to 2,000 students/staff that are here. I’m not sure when the security team came about, but I know that it hasn’t started recently.

Grandview police and IHOP security trampled on my rights and claimed ” I have the authority” I welcome all questions and no I did not do that ,I was detained for a facebook page exposing IHOP’s truth.
not only are armed security gaurds in the prayer room ,in plain clothes (The upper management) but yes the people pacing up and down are now mixed with IHOP staffers with security mic. ear buds. Eye’s are everywhere ,what’s going to happen? Maybe Waco times 1000 in 2013.

No police report filed but the two Grandview officers were obvious IHOP attendees. I have their badge number’s and waiting on the lie filled transcript from my night. “busted for praying for Bethany”, someone had to do it ,IHOP to you, no public statement of grief for even murder you are the definition of shame. se420nin@gmail I hope to hear from you to Richard.
Mirele, the comparison has been made and now one thing IHOP & Scientology have in common is an Anonymous attack (I mean hack!) Seriously ,IHOP is filling the standard everyday for a destructive cult. Now the ego is so big that scrutiny even disbelief is a crime. They have made numerous ignorant recent mistakes of violating human rights. Um, most Reformed churches presently have armed guards/security. One example would be John MacArthur’s church. They are affectionately referred to there as the “Temple Guard.” They have also been known to question church members who ask too many questions, and escort them off of church property when the interrogation didn’t go well.

Via someone: A person had water thrown at them by Cheryl Allen when attended the Pasadena IHOP; person handicapped by the way that was in the main letter for just showing up for prayer. Worse Cheryl had her minions throw all person’s stuff on the side-walk and threaten to call the police, when the person didn’t do anything. Cheryl was offended at being corrected; was always in person’s face regarding something/confrontational after telling person how to worship and pray (which is witchcraft-”usurping your will over someone else is witchcraft”) and person confronted Cheryl as others told person they confronted Cheryl also on her behavior, watching everyone and if wasn’t doing it to Cheryl’s liking she would say someing=control-witchcraft). Much like what Tammy went through on ripoffreport.com type in John Paul Jackson search box and read her lament about IHOP-WHEW (worse, these evil leadership call themselves Christian)! I personally wouldn’t be going to a church…prayer meeting in order to find lies and search for dirt…I doubt Jesus is telling us in scriptures to do that either, but I also wouldn’t allow some 20 yr old designated leader or security guy to escort me outside or slam me up and hold me captive without filing a report, going directly to Mike Bickle etc etc. I am wondering what other things you have said and done to make the security out of the blue pick on you in this way? Hmmmm….sounds fishy to me! Lol. I think there is more to your story than you are sharing here for sure.
And one thong more….there is a need for there to be people designated to keep the “over zealous”….I won’t call them by the name for these kinds of people…..from totally disrupting services! Honestly, you would have to believe they think they should be eating real locusts and running around naked or something! It is embarrassing! At some of Kevin Prosch’s worship times…especially when he travelled…women would dance their way up to the front by the stage and take off pieces of clothing and try to get his attention. Where did these women come from? Didnt they have ANY sense of right or wrong or decency? Those type of things seem to happen more in non denominational churches unfortunately. The stories are endless of these kind of folks who do some pretty weird things. I remember one time being in a church and some Bozo came in all dressed up like Jesus to take the attention off of the service and put it on himself. Lol. To be a Christian is to be wise as a serpent and innocent as doves for sure. So it makes sense to have some people after this murder …even the cops…investigating and making sure the innocent ppl are safe. Sounds normal to me….sounds logical.
I understand that crazy and demon possessed people Will for sure try to come into a service and disturb it. My question is why an armed security force? If it is a true Godly prayer room and the Shekinah Glory really is there then these people would be delivered and set free and conviction would fall on their heads before they had the opportunity to be disruptive. Please explain to me, If a person were to come in there and strip off their clothes(obviously possessed) or go in to find the truth to make sure that they are right or wrong about something. Why is the presence of God not taking care of these issues? Why are mere men in charge of casting these people out, instead of the Holy Spirit delivering them? If God Really and Truly is in these “prayer rooms” then armed guards are NOT needed. Look at what God did to those who opposed Him in the Old Testament… We don’t fight for God He fights for us!
@sean: I won’t deny your statement … I have personally been in two meetings where people have stormed the stage, once in the prayer room and once at FCF (and this was BEFORE the whole Bethany stuff).

But if the prayer was FOR Israel, why in the world were you going up except for the sole purpose TO cause a problem and purposely disturb the atmosphere. Bethany while a horrible situation has nothing to do with Israel, and if you felt prayer for Bethany was needed at the time, then approach one of the prayer leaders.
If one was to storm the stage at a Town Hall meeting in “Anytown USA” … security would probably forcefully remove you.
If one was to start being inappropriate in a public forum debating Shakespeare, you may be forcefully removed.
I personally take comfort in the fact that I have security actively involved, especially with the bomb threats and so forth out here.
I was once leading worship in another church where it was revealed by the Spirit to the security at the door (the unarmed ushers … as the leader, I actually saw the word “murder” literally pass in front of me in the spirit … it was eerie) that someone had just come in with a concealed gun intending to kill the preacher. The ushers moved on the urge of the Spirit and encountered the person and led them out. I only found this out about a week later at an elders meeting.
I hate to say it but in this day and age, armed or unarmed, security is needed in locations like IHOP-KC or in small churches like Our Saviors Luthern Church in Colonie, NY. I take comfort in this fact that I can leave security to their job and then take my job to focus on the Lord.

has anything else been discovered about the guards?? my best friend stopped talking to me once she joined an ihop internship, and I know that since then she has posted on her Facebook about being extremely tired after having to guard the prayer room all night.
Concerned….. I haven’t heard anything new there… why did she stop talking to you?
